Tree of Life Pendant
The Tree of Life appears in many religious texts and philosophies dating back thousands of years. It's known by many names and shown in many interpretations. The Tree of Life represents several concepts, including creation stories; the past, present, and future; the physical world and the spiritual realm; the flow of energy; the path to enlightenment. It's an image that is widely appealing, as it represents such a wide array of traditions. Certainly, with so many powerful stories and associations, the Tree of Life image carries important cultural significance.

The brilliant rainbow moonstones sparkle in the curly branches of this enchanting Tree of Life pendant. The sturdy trunk of the tree is hand carved from fossilized walrus ivory, which is from an island in the Bering Sea called St. Lawrence Island. The native Yupik have exclusive rights to gather and sell this finite material, which is an important part of their local economy and is valued worldwide for its use in fine jewelry. Fossilized walrus ivory takes on a range of tones from cream to deep cocoa, depending on the minerals surrounding it in the soil.
